Salvatore Riina, nicknamed "Totò u Curtu" for his short stature, was born in Corleone, a small town in Sicily, on 16 November 1930. His childhood was marked by poverty and violence. His father dies when he is still young and his mother is forced to raise her children alone. At just 12 years old, Riina left school to work in the fields. he will become the best known and cruelest of the mafia bosses.
