Emanuela Orlandi
Vatican girl
Emanuela Orlandi was a young Italian girl who disappeared on June 22, 1983, in Rome, at the age of just 15. She was the daughter of a Vatican employee and attended an international school for girls in Rome. On the day of her disappearance, Emanuela went to the bus stop to take a bus home, but she never arrived.
The investigation into Emanuela's disappearance has produced few concrete results over the years, and the case has become one of the most well-known unsolved cases in Italy. Over the years, various theories have been put forward about Emanuela's disappearance, including the involvement of the mafia, terrorist organizations, or members of the clergy.
Numerous attempts have been made over the years to find Emanuela, but all have been unsuccessful. In 2018, following an anonymous letter, excavations were carried out at a cemetery in Rome, but no human remains were found.
Despite more than 30 years having passed since her disappearance, the case of Emanuela Orlandi remains one of the most important and mysterious cases of missing persons in Italy. Her family continues to seek the truth about what happened to her.
